ABOUT
Sofia Misenheimer is an award-winning journalist based in Ottawa.
She works as the digital editor at the Ottawa Citizen, where she covers human interest stories and writes Out of Office, a weekly newsletter on what's happening and worth seeing in the capital.
In her free time, Sofia runs Roam Unknown, a site devoted to unusual and overlooked travel destinations. Her curiosity skews toward the witchy, kitschy, spooky and kooky with a particular fondness for used bookstores and small-town museums.
A former radio news anchor, Sofia's background in broadcast, publishing, and graphic design spans three countries and almost a decade.
She has an M.A. in communication studies from McGill University and a journalism degree from Concordia University.
