Shortlisted for Avenir Award

It was an honour representing the Art/iculation team and our 100+ contributors in Quebec City! While on stage at the Forces Avenir gala, I shared how the magazine offers a platform to writers, artists, poets, and other creatives, who are un(der)represented in the mainstream. When asked which communities we were specifically uplifting, I explained that we are inclusive of everyone, but that our editorial team and contributors reflect the full diversity of Quebec (and Canada), not just those who are white, straight, and touted as the "norm" in this province. I made these remarks a few feet away from Pauline Marois, whose tenure as QC Premier was defined by her support of divisive and intolerant legislation. While the magazine didn't win first place, I'm glad we had the opportunity to share our message and I couldn't be more proud of our team!
